My Story

I grew up in a single-parent household and, for much of my childhood, it was just me and my mother. I was an only child until my teenage years, when my mother remarried and my brother and sister came into my life.

Looking back, the signs were there from a very early age. I was headstrong, restless and difficult to contain. I was the kind of child who pushed boundaries, questioned authority and often acted before thinking about the consequences. But it was during my teenage years that life became much more serious.

Crime, drugs, car chases, handcuffs and prison became part of the world I lived in. Danger stopped feeling dangerous. I became someone who did not fear what might happen next, and that way of living brought me close to losing my life more than once.

During those years, I pushed away family and friends and convinced myself that I was better off walking alone. I lived in darkness while carrying the belief that nobody truly understood who I was or what was happening inside me.

The truth is, even at my worst, I still carried a heart of gold. I made bad choices and caused pain, but there was always a caring part of me buried beneath the anger, chaos and self-destruction. I did not always know how to show that side of myself, and for a long time I did not believe anyone would see it.

Things slowly began to change in my early twenties. It was not an instant transformation, and it did not erase the past, but it was the beginning of me becoming more honest about who I had been and who I wanted to become.

Now, in my forties, I care deeply about people. I understand what it feels like to be abandoned, unloved, judged, cast aside or forgotten. I know what it is like to carry a weight that nobody else can see and to smile while fighting battles in silence.

One of the hardest lessons I learned was that forgiveness has to begin within. I had to stop seeing myself only through the worst things I had done. I had to accept responsibility without believing that I was beyond redemption.

Once I began to forgive myself, I started to recognise forgiveness being offered by the people around me. Friends and family began to see the changes I was making, and for the first time I could begin to see myself as more than my past.

That was when I truly started becoming the man I am today: more patient, more compassionate, more accountable and more aware of the pain that people carry behind closed doors.

I now try to help lost souls whenever I can because I have been one. I do not look at people only for the mistakes they have made or the labels others have placed on them. I try to understand the road that brought them there, the wounds they may be hiding and the person they may still have the chance to become.

My music is part of that journey. It is how I tell the truth, process the past and turn pain into something that might help another person feel understood. I cannot change the life I lived, but I can use it to remind others that no one should be defined forever by their darkest chapter.

The Past

A life shaped by chaos, consequences, danger and the feeling of walking alone.

The Change

Learning accountability, self-forgiveness and how to become the man I always had the potential to be.

The Purpose

Using music and lived experience to help people who feel lost, judged, unseen or beyond saving.

Mental Health

Music can give words to feelings that are difficult to explain. This space is about honesty, awareness and reminding people that asking for help is a sign of strength.

RØREYES songs explore pain, regret, anger, isolation, healing and hope. They are not a replacement for professional support, but they can help people feel seen while they take the next step.

Talk

Speak to someone you trust instead of carrying everything alone.

Pause

Give yourself space to breathe, decompress and understand what you are feeling.

Reach Out

Contact a qualified professional or support service when things feel too heavy to manage alone.

Write Your Story

RØREYES can help turn your personal story into an original song. It could be about something you survived, someone you lost, a person you love, a mistake you regret, a battle you are still fighting or words you have never been able to say out loud.

Music can be a safe and powerful outlet for communication. Sometimes it is easier to hear your feelings in a song than to explain them face to face. A song can say the words that become trapped inside, help another person understand your experience and give shape to emotions that have been difficult to process.

Your story can be written as something raw and honest, caring and apologetic, uplifting and hopeful, or direct and unfiltered. The aim is to create a song that still sounds like you, carries the meaning you intended and treats your experience with respect.

Tell Your Truth

Share the experience, person, memory or message that you want the song to represent.

Shape The Emotion

The story is developed into lyrics with the right tone, structure, message and musical direction.

Turn It Into Music

Your words become a song you can keep, share or use to communicate what you have struggled to say.
